Las preguntas en pasado con verbos regulares e irregulares.

Do you remeber how to ask questions about the past? And say the answers?

¿Recuerdas como hacer preguntas en pasado? ¿Y responder?

REMEMBER: There are two kinds of questions: Information questions and yes/no questions. As you can see, the first of them asks for a fact or information. The second one only asks for a  "yes" or "no".

Hay dos clases de preguntas: Preguntas de información y preguntas de sí o no. Como puedes ver, la primera de ellas pide un dato o información. La segunda solo requiere un "sí" o "no".

EXAMPLE: Do you play football? Yes, I do. (¿Juegas al football? Sí.). This is a Yes/No question.

                    What sport do you play? I play football. (¿Qué deporte practicas? Yo juego al fútbol). This is an information question.

 It's easy to see the difference between them. In the information question you have to use a Wh-word, also called question words. 

Es fácil ver la diferencia entre ellas. En la pregunta de informatión tienes que usar una palabra de Wh, también llamadas palabras de pregunta.

Algunas Wh-words:

What.........Qué o cuál                               Who..........Quién

Where.......Dónde                                     When........Cuándo

How..........Cómo                                       Why..........Por qué

Which.......Cuál

Now let's see  some examples in the past tense. Veamos ahora algunos ejemplos en pasado.

Recuerda que en las preguntas en pasado se debe usar el auxiliar DID (con la mayoría de los verbos. Excepciones To Be, Can, a veces Have). Como el auxiliar ya está en pasado, el verbo principal deberá quedar en infinitivo. No así en la respuesta.

What museum did you visit in London? I visited the British Museum.

Where did you study Primary Education? I studied at Giner de los Ríos.

When did you buy this book? I bought it last week.

How did you go to Madrid? I went by train.
